Well, I’m back from my first ACFW Conference (I know, gasp!) and it was great! I met some lovely fellow authors:
Laurie Alice Eakes – A Revell author who I can’t wait to read! http://www.lauriealiceeakes.com/index.html
Laura Franz – She is so warm and friendly. If you liked my Wind Dancer, you will love her books. We are kindred spirits for sure! http://laurafrantz.blogspot.com/
Fellow B&H authors Brandilyn Collins (Seatbelt Suspense!) http://www.brandilyncollins.com/ she is even more glamorous in person! Robin Caroll who I found out coordinated the whole conference! http://www.robinmillerbooks.com/index.html The multi-talented Jim Rupert who is having great success with his debut novel, ROOMS! http://www.jimrubart.com/ A big thanks to Leanna Ellis! http://www.leannaellis.com/ She felt like a sister, taking me under her wing and giving me good advice. She has such a strong grasp on this business and is a wonderful story teller besides! Another sister type, Julie Carobini. She has that dry sense of humor that cracks me up! And her books are both lovely and fun http://www.juliecarobini.com/
I especially enjoyed meeting and having dinner with Pamela Ewen http://www.pamelaewen.com/ What a warm, intelligent, thoughtful person. I’m looking forward to her new book, Dancing on Glass!
The highlight of the conference, for me, was hearing Tim Downs speak – twice! Wow! Who knew he was such a great speaker? If you have the opportunity to purchase his talks through ACFW, I highly recommend that you do. I was inspired, encouraged and a bit challenged, as he intended. Here’s a great interview with him! http://www.heidimain.com/2010/06/10/interview-with-author-tim-downs/
Julie Gwinn of B&H was wonderful to catch up with, as usual. And Greg Pope, the mastermind behind all of B&H’s book trailers, graciously did a video shoot of each of the B&H authors. Of course I teared up during my interview, twice! Can’t seem to shake that habit.
Photos to come soon!

Jamie!! It sound WONDERFUL!!! I wish I could have gone along with you! Thanks for sharing! I look forward to more details!
Jamie, Meeting you was such a blessing! I don’t know how you found me in that crowd:) Some divine intervention for sure! You are truly as magical as your books. God bless you and may we meet again!
Laura, you are so sweet! thanks for the kind words and yes! I hope we get to see each other again and chat some more!!
Isn’t Pam awesome? Such a classy lady. I met her over a year ago, and-go figure-how lucky is this? We live in nearby cities.
Can’t wait for the Forgotten Castles series!!!
I just realized how much the cover of a book is a factor in my choosing a book to read. Whoever does your covers does a great job! I would pick those. (If I didn’t already know what a great writer you were that is!”
