Happy Easter!

The Snowflake

The Snowflake

To celebrate Easter I am giving away two books!! Your choice of Love’s First Light, Angel’s Den and The Snowflake. Pick two! All you have to do is comment here about your Easter plans. I’m hosting the dinner this year so we are going to church on Saturday night (I love all the choices my church gives us) so I can spend the morning cooking. I’m making a roast beef, a ham, my pasta salads that everyone likes (I’m not a great cook!) and buying one of those cheesecakes with all the sample flavors. I’m not a big sweets person but I LOVE cheesecake. My side of the family is coming – about 17 of us – and they are all bringing food so it’ll be our usual feast. There are six kids (not counting my 18 and 20 year old sons even though they still want candy!) and we’ll do an egg hunt for them. Hopefully, it won’t be raining all day! When do you stop giving adult children candy baskets? I think I’ll forgo the basket and just hand them a big chocolate bunny – ha!

This year my daughter and I are spending Easter Friday alone as all of our family live overseas but Saturday we’re visiting friends who are Jewish but still love to hear my daughter tell them all about Jesus (we have told them that eventually they’re going to turn into Jews for Jesus :) )

Sunday will start off with an Easter Egg hunt and then most of the day will be spent at church. I think we have the best church around, it’s small but very welcoming and although the services can run between 2- 4hrs it’s never tiring and one always leaves feeling uplifted and spirit filled.

Happy Easter to you and your family!

We are spending Easter with our daughter and her boyfriend in SW VA. They are both in college and graduating in 2 weeks. Easter break is short this year so we thought we would go to them. Normally, if we were all home I would be cooking but this year it’s to a restaurant we go. Hope you have a wonderful Easter with your family!

We celebrate Easter starting on Good Friday with communion and prayer at our church. Each family signs up to come to the church from 7pm-midnight for prayer and communion. Then on Saturday we will travel to my brother-in-laws families house so we can celebrate Easter with them. My brother in law is a police officer an he always has to work Easter so we go there to be with his wife and kids on that special day! I love all the yummy treats we get to eat on Easter, I always feel like I leave 5lbs heavier! ha ha Hope you have a great Easter!

This year my family has decided to go visit some old friends of ours that only live a few hours drive away. We’ll visit our old church and probably watch a video on the history of Easter. I have no idea what we’ll do for real food, but I’ll be providing lots of homemade cookies and brownies for us to indulge in.

I red your book snow angel in Dutch and i really liked it!
Tomorrow we celebrate easter like a normal sunday; going to church, having dinner. Monday morning a friend of us does confession of faith in our church. In the afternoon we will maybe going to swim somewhere, cause the weather in the netherlands is beautiful these days.
    Have a good easter!

We’re hosting Easter this year, and having two families join us, all bringing side dishes. We’re having ham, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, green beans, salad, raw veggies and dip, dressing, noodles, and pie. Having an egg hunt for the little ones, age 7, 8, and 2.

Don’t worry about putting me into the drawing; I already own all your books, and am eagerly waiting for the next one:)

Just found you on Twitter, so this is a nice surprise. I have to say we will be going to worship on Sunday as we always do. Nothing special because our children live far away. My husband and I concentrate of Jesus’ sacrifice each and every Sunday, though, and live in the joy of believing in Christ.

    I choose Angel’s Den.

    God bless you, Jamie

My son and I are going to church in the morning to celebrate our Lord’s resurrection (although ever day is a celebration for me). Afterwards, we are heading to my parents’ house for lunch with my family (there will be 16 of us). My mom is a phenomenal cook. She makes the best middle-eastern cuisine. I’m not the best cook, so I’ll be bringing a cake. After we’ve had our fill of the scrumptious food, we are going to have our traditional egg hunt and games for all of the children (and maybe a few adults). :)
