Help Me Pick a Costume?

Faceoutstudio is preparing to shoot the live action book trailer for The Guardian Duke and I need your help! They sent me these photos of possible costume choices for both Alexandria and Gabriel – the Duke of St. Easton. Could you help us choose? Just pick your favorite dress and coat. Thank you!! Dress 4 and coat 1

  2. Lena Nelson Dooley07-09-11

    I agree, dress 4, coat 1.

  3. Joy @ Edgy Inspirational Romance07-09-11

    dress 4, coat 1

  4. Rachel Wilder07-09-11

Dress 1 is a court dress. I can tell by the trim and the train. So not that one!

I like dresses 3 and 4. 3 is the most correct in style and pattern, but the fabric itself is all wrong. The bodice of 4 is fantastic, but the skirt is way off. I wish I could see the backs of 3 and 4.

Coat 1. 2 isn’t very Regency at all.

And that’s my official costume nerd opinion.

  5. Casey07-09-11

Agree with above. Dress 4, Coat 1. :-)

  6. Christy07-09-11

    Agree with everyone else…dress 4, coat 1. ;)

  7. jamiecarie07-10-11

Awesome information, Rachel! I may have to get your email so I can ask you all my clothing questions! :-)
I think my favorites are dress 4 and coat 1 as well.

  8. Judy Mitchell07-10-11

    Dress 4

  9. Elaine Lyons Bach07-11-11

    Dress 1, Coat 2

I like dress 1 with coat 1 because I like the V on the front of coat 1. The V the buttons form make made me think immediately of your title – Guardian, the buttons form a protective area on the coat. Perhaps silly, but that was my first impression. I liked several of the dresses, but I think dress 1 goes best with coat 1. Love, love having these little glimpses into what’s coming, thanks ;)

  11. Peggy Blann Phifer07-11-11

Dress 4 and Coat 2. I don’t like the red part of Coat 1 with that dress. Coat 2 seems more “proper” and less “showy” if that makes sense.

  12. Midgie Bardo07-11-11

Have to go with the rest – Dress 4 & Coat 1, though not too crazy about the tassels on Dress 4…. The dress as a whole is lovely, though!

  13. Lucie07-11-11

I like dress 4 with Coat 2…just liked the way they look the best, I have no idea about what was truly ‘in’ during that time period.

  14. Andrea07-11-11

Dress one, it’s the clear prettiest. Dress four is passable, I suppose, if it is more appropriate to the scene being set up. Both coats are ugly, IMO. :)

Ha! Andrea. They do look plain. They sent me a pic of the first one “done up” and it’s much better but I didn’t post it because I didn’t want to sway the voting. I’ll post it on Wednesday when the voting closes and you’ll see what I mean. :-)

I would have to agree with everyone else! Dress 4 and coat 1. I too like the bodice of dress 4 although I don’t love the skirt. I’m interested to see how the red (I believe it’s red anyway! :) ) on the coat goes with the dresses, no matter which one is chosen.
thanks for asking our input! so fun!! :)

  17. Ellen07-12-11

I like dress 1 and coat 1 best! Love that we get to vote and may the best combination win!

  18. Glenda07-14-11

I would do coat 1 and dress 1

  19. Pam Hillman07-14-11

Dress 1 and Coat 1. This was fun! Can’t wait to see the final cover!

  20. jamiecarie07-14-11

Good points about the red on the coats matching the dress. I think I would like dress one best with any red on Gabriel. You all r so helpful!!

  21. Hillary in Indiana :)07-14-11

    Dress 3 and Coat 1
