Historical Fiction At Its Best

If you enjoy being swept back into history like I do then you will love T.L. Higley’s new story set in Pompeii!

Back Cover:

Pleasure-seeking Romans find the seaside town of Pompeii the perfect getaway. But

when the rich patrician Cato escapes Rome, intent on a life of leisure, he is unprepared

for the hostility he encounters. In the same place, but at the opposite end of society,

Ariella has disguised herself as a young boy to be sold into a gladiator troupe. Survival

is her only ambition.

But evil creeps through the streets of Pompeii, and neither Ariella’s secret nor Cato’s

evasion is immune to it. Political corruption, religious persecution, and family peril

threaten to destroy them, even before an ominous mountain in the distance spews its fire.

As Vesuvius churns with deadly intent, Cato and Ariella must bridge their differences

to save the lives of those they love – before fiery ash buries Pompeii, turning the city into a lost world.

“T.L. Higley’s Pompeii ignites with riveting action and compelling characters. No one unleashes the secrets of history with a  masterful hand the way T.L. Higley does! Authentic and powerful, Pompeii is a fiery tale of a city lost to the power of Vesuvius. I simply could not read fast enough!”

-Ronie Kendig, author of Digitialis

I asked Tracy what she was most excited about with this book. Here’s what she said:

“People are fascinated by Pompeii, by the “frozen in time” city buried under all that ash and lava, then discovered and dug out centuries later. I’m excited to be able to bring the city to life, with characters that lived and loved there, and give people a fuller picture of Pompeii life than they’d ever get from textbooks.”

I remember being fascinated by the idea of Atlantis when years ago I read a book about that lost city. Tracy has agreed to give away a signed copy. To enter just answer this question: What city/place has fascinated you whether historical or modern day? I will choose a winner Friday evening. Don’t forget to leave contact information in case you win! Thanks for visiting!

This is hard to pin down but if I have to choose only one it would have to be Jerusalem or anywhere in Israel. In general, the entire Middle East fascinates me and I yearn to visit! I had my DNA done and found out I’m not the white girl I thought I was! My ancestors originated from the Middle East. And long before I’d had my DNA done, I had always been drawn there. Fascinating! I also love historical fiction the best. This book looks delicious.

Thanks for sharing info on this new book. It sounds great. I love historical fiction. I love to read about Rome and Italy in general. Such interesting history! Hope to visit there next summer.

I would love to visit Israel! I wish there was such a thing as a “time machine” so I could visit Israel when Jesus was there! :)

I’ve always been fascinated by Rome, particularly ancient Rome. It used to be the center of everything, and much of our own culture stems from it. I’d like to it visit someday, but until then I’ll just have to “visit” my favorite cities in the pages of books. =)

Joanna, I’m with you on the time machine!! Can you imagine going back and suddenly appearing in a crowd where Jesus was walking and teaching! I imagine in heaven we will have all of eternity to get to study and know any city and time and especially those places where our Lord walked the earth. Who knows, God may enable us to walk it with Him somehow. Who can imagine the glories we’ll see and hear and experience. I pray those who have written here about their special places will get to see them and so much more (Italy here I come! :-) Bless you all!

    Hi Jamie,
First, your site looks great. Second the book is very appealing as Pompeii was always a fascinating story to me. It holds to a great time in history too. There were still Apostles alive when Vesuvius blew. It is difficult to pinpoint one place. I guess one place that always fascinated me was Venice. The idea of a whole city on water, and your transportation being a Gondolier rather intrigues me.

    God Bless,
    Joe Young
