Today we are going to have a fabulous give-away that has a wonderful Easter theme. Pam has had the incredible blessing of seeing the Shroud of Turin and this book is filled with suspense and drama relating to the shroud. She is giving away a signed copy of her book and a delicate Easter cross necklace!
SECRET OF THE SHROUD
(formerly titled, Walk Back The Cat)
A terrified apostle in AD 33…
A tragic child in the 1950s……
A slick church leader in the twenty-first century…
All linked by the secret of the Shroud of Turin—
And by something more. Something dark and sinister.
Here is what people are saying about Secret fo the Shroud: “An engrossing suspense novel involving time shifts, mysterious characters, and the Shroud of Turin.” –Christianbook.com
“This book will surprise and delight, and If you’re like me, will leave you looking forward to her next book.” The Suspense Zone.com
“It’s hard to read this book and not get involved. I found my face wet with tears as I read the last few chapters. Days later, I still find the characters fresh in my mind. This book has twists that aid in building the suspense. The characters are more than mere words, they seem to come alive on the pages. I felt that I knew them personally…This is Christian fiction at its best.” Readerviews.com
Hello Readers: With Easter approaching, the enigma of the Shroud of Turin has special meaning, particularly now with the Middle East on fire, Japan melting down, rogue nations going nuclear, and global financial turmoil, not to mention our own. But in the face of it all, this amazing fourteen foot piece of linen cloth bearing the image of a crucified man in great detail, in three dimensional detail, has emerged, and with it– new science that allows us to understand it with both our hearts and minds. The Shroud of Turin is surely one of the greatest mysteries of science and faith. It is an almost photographic depiction of the exact description of the crucifixion of our Lord in 33 A.D. And yet, although we can journey to the outer edges of our galaxy to explore space, science has yet found no explanation for how the image was created on the cloth. And the blood on the wounds is real.
For many years the Shroud’s authenticity was questioned. But new evidence today mow indicates that it dates back to the first century, and is the actual burial shroud of Jesus Christ. So, Jamie, you’ve asked what I’m most excited about with this book. Well, my prayer is that after finishing it, readers will have a new understanding of this amazing relic and what it means to us, and that they will then will ask themselves this question:
Why now have science and faith merged to reveal the image on this cloth?
Secret of the Shroud is a rerelease of my earlier novel titled Walk Back The Cat, with new, updated information on the Shroud. Last May my husband, Jimmy, and I went to Turin for a rare exhibition of the cloth, only the 5th time it’s been publically exhibited since the 15th century. We changed the title of the book because we realized that the central focus of the story should be the Shroud, particularly given the new evidence available. The trip to Turin was a pilgrimage for us. I have pictures and a blog from that trip on my website-pamelewen.com.
It’s almost impossible to describe the feelings I had finally standing before the Shroud. But as I wrote in the book – after I prayed, I walked into the dark cathedral in Turin, and I believe I looked upon the face of the Messiah.
Wow! Thanks for sharing your experiences, Pam! What do you think? To enter the contest just answer this question: Have you ever had a special Easter happening/encounter? If not, what would you like to ask God for to make this Easter really special?

Sounds like a great book!! My Easter encounter is happening this year actually. Now that I have my first child, it kills me when I imagine being Mary and watching her Child save HER! A parent saves their child, the child isn’t supposed to save the parent – it’s just really struck me this year. And to think it was partially her fault Jesus was giving His life … ugh … I would never want to be the cause of my child giving their life for me … it’s a circular though and just gets more impacting the more I dwell on it.
I am just amazed that Jesus went through the trials and crucificition for me!
I had the opportunity to see a replica of the Shroud in TX 13 years ago and it was a moving experience!
The book sound great!
This sounds like an awesome book to read. Thanks for telling us about it! And it will be especially a good read here at Easter, when we celebrate our Risen Savior!!
Blessings…..Joy

I would like Christ to resurrect my marriage!! He has forgiven me so much, and I want to offer the same forgiveness to my spouse.
My Easter encounter occurred on a Good Friday about 20 years ago. I went back to the church I was married in. There were a few people in the church praying. I walked all of the stations of the cross and asked God’s forgiveness for all the petty and selfish things in my life. When I was done, I felt this overwhelming chill course through my body, not cold, but tingly. I knew it was God’s Spirit renewing mine. I feel blessed to be able to walk with Christ. God Bless!
Last Easter my oldest son’s best female friend gave her life to Christ and went forward. My son sobbed on my shoulder because he was so happy for her. How’s that for a miracle? He prayed for her for almost four solid years.
This book sounds fascinating, BTW.
I don’t really have a special encounter at Easter story. I do remember when I was little (I’m in my fifties.) my mother always shopped around to find exactly the right Easter dress for me with little gloves and a bonnet.
This may sound silly but what I’d like to happen this Easter is this: my mother passed away Jan. 16. I was sitting at her side and she went on to glory to peacefully and easily. I miss her so much it hurts sometimes. I would love to be able to get a glimpse through a window of Heaven and see her enjoying the home the Lord has prepared for her. What a wonderful gift that would be!
This sounds like an exciting book and fantastic experience and opportunity to see the shroud in person!
I do remember Easter a few years where I felt especially close and in His presence. Our ministers encouraged the congregation to not purchase special Easter outfits, but to give that money to outreach instead. We went just as we were, with few distractions, where the focus was less on us and all about Him. The full realization of His ultimate gift and sacrifice was made real and I felt the sadness of the price He paid, as our minister took out the huge nail and drove it into the wood. Joy filled my heart that day because I knew He did it for me.
Cecilia, what a wonderful testimony! And you too, Michelle. You must so proud of your son and his faithfulness to his friend PTL!
Susan, I have the same fond memory of getting a new outfit every Easter (we were pretty poor back then, so this was a big deal to me!) I still remember a peach pantsuit from JCPennys that I adored. I pray you get to see a glimpse of your mother this Easter!!
Jaime, isn’t it amazing what Jesus did for his mother and us all! I agree about Mary. It must have been so hard to watch Him suffer and die – she knew He was (is!) the Son of God and must have wondered what in the world was happening.
Kim – praying for you my dear!
Keep the stories coming ladies!
no special memory encounters here.

I think this book sounds interesting and I am looking forward to reading it.
Thanks
Easter is the moment for hope–yesterday, today, and tomorrow. It’s my favorite day of the whole year. No matter what choices we make, Easter tells us that our Father always lifts us up.
My favorite Easter encounter happened 33 years ago. I met my husband the day before. The moment I spoke to him I knew he was the one God had for me. We had our first date that Easter and was married 2 1/2 months later and we are still married 33 years this June. I have two beautiful daughters, a couple of step-grandchildren, and a grandbaby and another grandchild on the way.
Jaime Wright is the winner! Congrats Jaime!
So excited to read the book!! Thanks, Pamela, for offering a great read and to you, Jamie, for featuring her here.
