Sometimes Life Gets In the Way or Help! I Need an Assistant!

Between spring break in Chicago and working on the next book, edits on the last book and painting my bedroom (I bought new Vera Wang bedding from Kohls which started a bedroom makeover!!) . . . well, my poor blog has suffered a bit. Rest assured, I have some great things coming up for you! Next week, I am thrilled to be able to introduce an author who writes so beautifully – Pamela Ewen. And really, I’ve sat down with her for dinner and she has such a vast knowledge, such experience as an attorney beyond anything I’ve known and, most of all, such kindness. You know kindness when people are warm, in a genuine, loving kind of warmth. I’ve met people who are faking warmth, but you can sense the judgement underneath it. Pam is not that girl for sure. She is so smart and creative, but doesn’t make you feel bad that you haven’t had those same experiences and aren’t up to her level on some particular topic. I love those kinds of people. There are areas in my life that are strong and I don’t think for a minute that I’m special because I’m strong in that area – oh no – I know what it cost me to get there. And I know that the people I meet will have their own “cost story” and their own level of strength in different areas. And, if I am humble and listening, I can learn from them and gain knowledge through story and through their life experience, a situation I might never have.

So, I’ve not quite delivered on my every Thursday promise of book contests and prizes (nor my Sunday devotions!) but please know that I think about the readers of this blog all the time and I have plans and excitment and faith that I’ll have something worthy for you to visit again. I appreciate your patience and your kindness and your faith in me that God will continue His good work and we’ll all be blessed..

Stay tuned for next Thursday. Pam is giving away something special with her book. And I wouldn’t want you to miss it. Her favorite holiday is Easter. I think you’ll see why. Happy Easter everyone! (I’ll be saying that again in the next weeks).

Next up – chocolate and Easter baskets and when to cut off your kids (my oldest is twenty – college student and still living at home!!! What do I transition to? He still loves candy :-) )
